I am an integrative Supervisor, PC in approach and work quite holistically. I am a Senior accredited Psychotherapist, Rewind Practitioner, Animal Assisted therapist and an NLP Coach.
Supervisees can set the agenda in their sessions. Whether that’s talking about home, work and balance, training, CPD and your aspirations, talking through and management of your cases, balance of your workload, personal issues your struggling with, Ethical dilemmas, marketing of your business and any other business concerns, I can help and support you.
I’m very warm, approachable and a happy chatty person, and easygoing. I have a great sense of humour and dont mind if you swear. Let’s face it, our work can be very hard and challenging and frustrating at times. One of the things I hear from new supervisees is they have experience and struggled with power balance between themselves and their past supervisor and as a consequence have found it hard to approach them for fear of judgement. I am the opposite to that and I’m extremely open and approachable. I offer a relational collaborative way of working together, whereby we build a trusted environment so you can feel safe enough to talk to me about anything. I’m not scared of a challenge and I’m aware sometimes encouragement is needed in order to resolve things, or help to move people forward. Sometimes I’m even asked by individuals to ‘give them a kick up the arse’. A lot of my supervisees have been with me since I first trained in supervision in 2019, and have stayed with me.
Having had hands on experience setting up and running & managing various businesses over the years, I am business savvy and I can offer support in building and setting up in Private Practice, and running your business. I also offer support helping people apply for their accreditation.
I have a Certificate in Supervision 2019 and a Diploma in supervision 2020 and have years experience working as a supervisor with those in Private Practice and some working within agencies/charity’s. I usually work supervising many therapists in their practice and offering those who need it Supervision of Supervision.
I’m good at thinking ‘outside the box’ and as my forte is business set up and management and setting up in Private Practice, I can also help with the required paperwork you need. I have experience of using outcome measures to evidence change.
A bit more about my experience:
I have lived experience with child loss, divorce, with pet & human loss, managing chronic conditions Fibromyalgia, CFS/ME, Rheumatoid etc, pain, and with autism and ADHD, so I can relate to people who struggle managing these chronic conditions and experience of living with and working with people with neurodiversity.
I have an extensive library of useful psych Ed information, strategies, workbooks etc. Which I can send you when we identify information which could be helpful to your clients/supervisees.
I work with many supervisees with a vast array of client issues including trauma, self harm, identity, trans, anxiety, depression, management of health conditions & disability etc. I have helped with building confidence & helping with imposter syndrome. I have experience of social care & care management, family courts, business start up, business enterprise, mental health support work, nursing, I was a childminder for 15 years and I am also currently a foster carer for NYC.
I am available for trainee or for qualified counsellors for supervision. Supervisee’s can choose how often they have sessions and how long these sessions are. This can be for 1 for to 1.5 hours, or for as much as you need. The supervision I offer is relational/ PC/Integrative and is based on Halloway’s 1995 model an (an integrative approach).
When you enquire I usually arrange a brief meet up session on zoom.
If you then decide you wish to have supervision with me we will agree our next appointment, and payment is due in advance to secure it in the diary. Once happy I will forward you the contract.
You can set the agenda whether it be discussions about your client case load our CPD and training, your personal circumstances, possible imposter syndrome, setting up and managing your practice, organisational or agency framework, meeting BACP or NCPS Ethical Frameworks and standards. I have template paperwork you may need contracts, GDPR policys, or you can design your own.
Supervision is usually held on zoom. I have a vast library of tools, resources and information should you need any.
On the morning of your appointment you will be sent a zoom link. After the session I will send you your supervision log and any resources you need.
Supervision will be reviewed as we go. I use a 48 hour cancellation policy, which will be explained in the contract.
In my counselling practice I work therapeutically with Young people aged 11 and over, through to adults. I am Scarborough based and work online. I offer counselling, Rewind Therapy, flash technique, EMDR and Animal Assisted Therapy. I can offer Rewind Therapy to younger children (as long as they can understand and follow the instructions) then this is available to them.
I have won various awards for my private practice ‘Counselling & Animal Assisted Therapy Award’ 2020 CTUK, ‘Best Family Counsellor’ 2023, ‘Best Psychotherapy Clinic of the Year’ 2024/25 all Prestige Awards and recently an Award of Excellence ‘Best Family Counsellor’ 2025. I Started my counselling training journey 2009 first qualified in 2013 at FD level 4/5 and then completed my BA level 6. I set up and started my private Practice 2016, working from my therapy room on the side of my home. My counselling training experience was counselling in a women’s centre helping with DV, rape, parental issues, trauma, relationships, safeguarding, and I provided therapy for offenders at probation and in a primary school with children age 7-10.
I am constantly training, completing CPD and updating myself so I can keep current and this adds more tools and information to my tool box of useful things I can draw on to help clients and supervisees. For example, recent training completed was pre trial therapy which I felt I needed following the recent change in the law allowing us to provide adults with counselling for adoption issues. Having had lived experience of family courts, fostering I felt this was essential.I’m happy to meet online for a brief chat. Supervision can be face to face in Scarborough or online.
I tend to be available Monday, Tuesdays (every other Tuesday) Wednesday, Thursday 9.30-5 pm & Friday morning up to 2 pm ish. Usually we book as we go.
My rates are £70 an hour, £85 an hour and a half, £100 for two hours supervision.
Looking forward to working with you.
