Hello, I’m Jane — and a very warm welcome to you.
If you’re here, you might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or carrying something that hasn’t felt easy to talk about. You may not even have the words for it yet — and that’s completely okay.
Reaching out can feel like one of the hardest steps, especially when you’ve been coping on your own for a long time. You don’t have to do that anymore.
How I Work
I offer a safe, relaxed, and confidential space where you can simply be yourself — no pressure, no judgement, and no expectations.
I provide an integrative counselling service, rooted in a person-centred / humanistic approach, with additional techniques and modalities used where helpful. This means everything we do is tailored to you as an individual.
At the heart of therapy is the relationship we build together — one based on trust, empathy, and feeling truly heard.
My style is warm, approachable, and down-to-earth. Therapy with me is professional, but also friendly and human.
Many of the people I work with have experienced trauma — whether that’s a single event or something that has built up over time.
Trauma doesn’t always look how people expect it to. It can show up as anxiety, overwhelm, low mood, or feeling disconnected or stuck.
I work gently and safely with trauma, always at your pace. You will never be pushed to revisit anything before you’re ready.
I am qualified to offer:
Alongside these, I use integrative therapeutic approaches to help you feel safer, calmer, and more in control day to day.
I bring a broad knowledge and understanding of illness, disabilities, Nursing, and the Social Care sector, alongside my work in counselling and trauma.
I am also experienced in supporting a wide range of life issues, including:
This allows me to work holistically with you — understanding both emotional and practical challenges that can affect everyday life.
What I Offer
I offer a range of services to suit different needs and preferences:
This therapy can benefit adults and children (11+), families and couples, who are experiencing a wide range of issues, anxieties, and challenges affecting everyday living.
Therapy with me can include the presence of a therapy pet — or not — entirely your choice.
(See my Animal Assisted Therapy page for more information.)
Animals can help create a sense of calm and safety, making it easier to relax and open up — but traditional therapy sessions are always available too.
A Space Where You Can Be You
I mainly work from home, in a private therapy office in a quiet area of the Southside of Scarborough. It’s a calm, comfortable space where you can talk openly and feel at ease.
Everything you share is treated in the strictest confidence.
Taking the First Step
You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy.
If something inside you is saying it’s time for things to feel different, I’ll be here to walk alongside you — gently, safely, and at your pace.
Health Insurance
I am registered with Employment Assistance Providers and Health Insurance companies. If you wish to claim through one of these I will need your policy details and a pre-authorisation number before we can work together. There may be some excess to pay and you will be responsible to pay any cancelation fees outside of my 48hour cancelation policy period.
Awards
I have won multiple awards for my work, which im honoured to have received.
